How can I let respondents provide a rating?
### Field Types

If respondents ever need to rate the quality of service or demonstrate how much they like a product, you can use a [Rating](https://paperform.co/widgets/rating/) question to collect that crucial information that enables you to pinpoint where you need improvement and when you’re already doing an amazing job.

## How do I add a rating question to my form?

### Using slash commands

 1. In the editor and outside of any questions or groups, type `/rating` and select the rating question.

### Without using slash commands

 1. In the editor, select “Add questions” to the left of a blank line outside any questions or groups.
 1. Change the type of the question to “rating” (the default is “text”).

## What options are available to customize the rating?

### Icons

 - Heart
 - Star
 - Thumbs Up
 - Users
 - Custom

With the custom option, you can upload your own images that help brand the experience: one for when not selected and one for when selected.

For example, if you used our built-in star icon and a respondent chose 4/5 stars, 4 of the stars would be filled in (”selected”) and 1 star would not be filled in (”not selected”).

### Numerical rating

You can choose any number between 1 and 10, inclusive.
