How can I create auto-advance multi-step forms?
### Appearance & Theming

Paperform's One-at-a-time (Previously [Guided Mode](https://paperform.co/help/articles/guided-mode-overview/)) allows you to create forms and surveys that display one question at a time. Most question types will automatically advance to the next page as soon as an answer is typed or selected.

One-at-a-time can be enabled from the Theme & Appearance menu, which you can find in the Question panel.

![Screenshot of the Theme Settings menu, with the "One-at-a-time" button highlighted (in the "Form Experience" sec](https://img.paperform.co/fetch/f_auto,w_1400/https://d3gw2uv1ch7vdq.cloudfront.net/img/one-at-a-time.png)

If you would like to conditionally navigate to different questions depending on how the form is filled out, you can use [visibility logic](https://paperform.co/help/articles/logic-guide/). When a question or page is not "visible" on a form in One-at-a-time, it will be skipped.

## Gotchas

 - When there is an "Other" option available in a [Multiple Choice](https://paperform.co/help/articles/how-do-i-add-multiple-choice-questions-to-my-form/) question (giving the submitter the chance to type their own answer), then that question will not auto-advance, even if a different answer is selected.
